Beat Debt With The Help Of A Bankruptcy Lawyer

Facing overwhelming debt is debilitating, and the prospect of filing for bankruptcy, frightening. At Kolb & Murray, P.C., you will find a comfortable and confidential setting where you can discuss your debt relief options.

You should not feel embarrassed about filing for bankruptcy because many hardworking folks need to file for bankruptcy protection due to some unfortunate or unplanned event in their life. We will help you rebuild your credit and regain your life.

Knowledgeable In Bankruptcy, Finances and Housing

Bankruptcy can touch every part of a person’s life, from a home foreclosure notice to familial challenges. Attorney Kevin Kolb not only has 21 years of legal experience — including bankruptcy, real estate and family law experience — but he is also a certified public accountant with an advanced law degree (LL.M.) in taxation and a former realtor. His extensive knowledge in the financial, housing and legal industries gives him many different perspectives into your bankruptcy case and related legal issues. Finally, Kevin Kolb will handle your case personally.

The Benefits Of Filing Chapter 7

If you qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, a number of things will happen:

  • Creditor harassment will stop immediately.
  • There will be an automatic stay, which will put foreclosure and other debt collection efforts on hold.
  • At the end of your bankruptcy proceedings, much of your debt will be discharged, including medical debt and credit card debt. (Most taxes, student loan debt and child support debt cannot be discharged.)

Chapter 7 is called the liquidation bankruptcy or fresh start bankruptcy because it allows people to start anew and begin building a better financial future. It is not an option — or the best option — for everyone, however. For example, chapter 13 can be a better option for dual-income households where the family would like to keep its home.
